Can I backup Microsoft Teams?
Yes. Microsoft Teams data can be fully backed up and restored using Nexstor cloud backup for Office 365. Content shared within Teams is stored across Exchange Online and SharePoint Online, allowing it to be protected as part of your wider M365 environment. Using Veeam Explorers™, you can quickly locate and recover Teams chats, documents, sites, and channel data. Information connected to Teams tabs and channels can also be restored and manually re‑linked to the appropriate Teams location when required.
What is considered a user when backup up Office 365?
When determining how many licenses are required, you should count all Microsoft 365 end‑user and resource mailboxes within each organisation you want Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to protect. This includes personal user mailboxes, online archive mailboxes, and resource mailboxes such as meeting rooms or conference rooms. Each of these mailbox types requires its own license to back up the associated data. Shared mailboxes, however, do not require a license and can be backed up at no additional cost.
What happens if a user is deleted?
If a user is deleted from Microsoft 365, their data is still retained and protected by Nexstor cloud backup. Mailboxes, OneDrive content, and other associated data remain available for recovery for 30 days and even after the user account has been removed, up to 12 months. This allows administrators to restore the data to an existing user, a new user, or export it as needed, ensuring no critical information is lost due to accidental or planned user deletion.
How often is Office 365 data backed up to the Nexstor cloud?
Office 365 data is backed up automatically to the Nexstor cloud every 24 hours. This scheduled, hands‑off approach ensures your Microsoft 365 data is consistently protected and readily available for recovery when required.
Is SharePoint included in Office 365 backup?
Yes. SharePoint is included in our Office 365 Backup‑as‑a‑Service. We back up your full SharePoint environment, including site collections, libraries, lists, and files shared through Teams. Our service goes beyond Microsoft’s built‑in retention by offering automated backups, granular restores, long‑term retention, and protection against deletion, corruption, or ransomware. This ensures your SharePoint data is always secure and easily recoverable.
Is OneDrive included in Office 35 backup?
Yes. OneDrive is included in our Office 365 Backup‑as‑a‑Service. We back up all OneDrive files and folders, ensuring your users’ data is protected beyond Microsoft’s default retention. Our service provides automated backups, granular restores, long‑term retention, and protection against accidental deletion, corruption, or ransomware. This means your OneDrive data is always secure and easy to recover whenever you need it.
How much storage is included for each user with Office 365 backup?
With our Office 365 Backup‑as‑a‑Service, you can choose between 50GB or 100GB of storage per user. This capacity is pooled across your organisation. This allows you to select the capacity that best fits your organisation’s needs while ensuring all user data is securely backed up, retained, and easily recoverable.
