Disaster Recovery as a Service
Reducing downtime is critical to staying competitive and trusted in your industry.
The solution? Our disaster recovery cloud platform is built on best-of-breed hardware and software from HPE, VMWARE, Zerto, and Veeam. We build you a service that feels familiar so that in the event of service invocation, you are in the driving seat from the word go.
DRaaS is much less about the hardware itself and much more about the security of it.
Traditionally, businesses had a DRaaS plan in place, with a focus on physical resilience. It served as a fail safe for your infrastructure, designed to recover systems from hardware failures and natural disasters, rather than the digital threats businesses face every day.
At Nexstor, we understand that the main driver for a modern DRaaS plan is cyber-resilience. We make sure that your DRaaS can be recovered from before the attack happened.
Cyber Threats are the new enemy
Cyberattacks are now the biggest, most constant threat to businesses. They can completely shut a company down. It's no longer a case of if, but when will your company be under threat.
A major shift:
Over 60% of the time companies use their disaster recovery plan because of a security incident (like a ransomware attack or a data breach), not a hardware problem.
This means DRaaS is no longer just a “break-glass-in-case-of-emergency” safeguard; it’s now a first line of defence against modern cyber threats.
Why Nexstor for DRaaS?
- We have a step-by-step process for capturing your business requirements on a workload-by-workload basis and assigning the correct RPO/RTO.
- We run an on-premises Cloud Assessment to look at existing workload resource requirements including CPU/RAM/Storage.
- From the information gathered, we build a cloud-based Virtual Data Centre (cVDC) that includes key components such as internet connectivity, Firewall, 3 External IP addresses, and Virtual Networking. Within the cVDC our engineers build a mirrored set of virtual servers which are kept updated via replication from your site (powered by either Veeam or Zerto)
- We create a runbook that details exactly what will happen if one of your services or sites goes down and needs to failover to one of our two U.K. Data Centres.
Time to Recover (RTO) is at the heart of Nexstor’s Disaster Recovery service. Implementing a successful DR strategy involves creating a plan based on a clear understanding of the primary IT environment.
