Yes. You can perform file‑level restores from both your Windows Cloud Connect backup and your backup copy job. Using Veeam’s recovery tools, you’re able to browse your backup data and restore individual files or folders without needing to recover an entire VM. This gives you fast, granular recovery whenever you need to retrieve specific items.
How many restore points should I keep?
The right number of restore points depends on your recovery needs, but we generally recommend keeping enough daily and weekly restore points to cover both short‑term and longer‑term protection. Veeam allows flexible retention policies, so you can easily set a schedule that fits your compliance requirements and storage capacity. If you’re unsure, we can advise on the best retention plan for your environment.
How do I know if my jobs are completing or failing?
You can easily monitor the status of your backup and backup copy jobs through the Veeam console. Each job provides real‑time status updates, showing whether it has completed successfully, completed with warnings, or failed. What is the difference between a backup job and a backup copy job?
A backup job creates your primary backup by capturing data directly from your production environment according to your set schedule. A backup copy job, on the other hand, takes those existing backups and creates a secondary copy, typically stored off‑site or in the cloud.
