If you’ve recently visited the Pure Storage website, spoken to a partner or looked for information about your existing Pure Storage environment, you may have noticed a new name appearing: Everpure.

Pure Storage officially became Everpure on 23 February 2026. But this is about more than simply putting a new name on the same company. Everpure says the change reflects its evolution from a storage-focused business towards a broader approach to storage and data management.

For existing Pure Storage customers, the important question is simple: what actually changes for you?

Pure Storage is now Everpure

The first thing to know is that this is an official company name change.

Pure Storage became Everpure in February 2026, with the new identity being introduced across the company, its products and customer-facing platforms. According to the official Everpure FAQ, the transition is being carried out in phases, so customers and partners may continue to encounter both Pure Storage and Everpure terminology during the transition.

So if you already have Pure Storage infrastructure in your environment, references to Everpure aren’t pointing to a completely different storage vendor. They’re the new identity of the company you already know.

Why did Pure Storage become Everpure?

The clue is really in the part of the old name that’s disappeared: Storage.

Pure Storage built its reputation around enterprise flash storage, but the company says its focus has expanded beyond storage alone to encompass storage and data management, including its Enterprise Data Cloud vision.

Rather than positioning the business simply around where organisations store their data, Everpure is increasingly talking about how that data is controlled, protected, governed and made available across different environments. Its Enterprise Data Cloud approach is central to this broader direction.

The key message is: new name, broader direction.

What’s actually changing?

The most visible change is the branding.

Everpure says its customer-facing properties began reflecting the new name from the February announcement, while other assets and systems are transitioning in phases. Customers may therefore encounter both the previous and new company names while that process takes place.

Product branding is changing too. Everpure says most of its portfolio will transition to Everpure nomenclature during 2026.

However, the company has stated that there is no change to the functionality of its existing products and platform as a result of the rebrand.

For customers, that’s an important distinction. The company name and visual identity are changing, but this isn’t a wholesale replacement of the technology you’re already running.

What does it mean for existing Pure Storage customers?

For existing customers, the immediate impact should be relatively limited.

Everpure says that no action is required from customers as a result of the name change, and that seeing the previous and new names during the transition does not affect service, support or contractual obligations.

That means you might continue to come across Pure Storage terminology in parts of your existing environment while also seeing Everpure appearing on newer material.

The bigger consideration is what the change tells us about the vendor’s longer-term strategy. Everpure is positioning itself around wider enterprise data management rather than viewing storage infrastructure in isolation.

What happens to FlashArray, FlashBlade and Evergreen?

Familiar technologies including FlashArray, FlashBlade and Evergreen remain part of the portfolio.

Everpure’s current Knowledge Portal describes FlashArray as supporting block and file storage for databases, VMs and core applications, while FlashBlade provides scale-out file and object storage for areas such as analytics, AI and backup and recovery.

Evergreen//Forever remains Everpure’s lifecycle and subscription proposition, covering software, support and hardware upgrades over time.

Everpure has said the portfolio will gradually adopt its new brand terminology, but existing product functionality isn’t changing simply because of the new company name.

So, if you currently run FlashArray or FlashBlade, these product families haven’t suddenly disappeared. They’re now sitting within the wider Everpure brand.

What does the change say about Everpure’s direction?

This is arguably the more interesting part of the announcement.

Everpure says its Enterprise Data Cloud strategy is intended to move organisations towards managing data rather than individual storage systems, bringing data across different environments under a more consistent management model.

That ties the vendor’s traditional storage strengths to wider conversations around automation, cyber resilience, hybrid environments, data governance and AI readiness.

Everpure’s own explanation of what Everpure is makes that direction clear: the issue it is trying to address is increasingly how enterprise data is managed, rather than solely where it is stored.

For organisations considering their next storage refresh, that means evaluating Everpure may increasingly involve looking beyond individual arrays. Our NetApp vs Everpure comparison explains how the two approaches differ across portfolio, protocols and lifecycle considerations.
